Before we start.
What about my domain, hosting and business email?
Your domain is your website address, hosting keeps it online, and business email uses your domain. These are charged monthly, separately from your build, at cost with no added markup. We’ll agree the monthly amount before starting. Already have them? We’ll work out what you can keep.
Do I need to supply the words and photos?
You bring the knowledge of your business, plus any logos, photos or existing text you have. I can help shape the words and page structure. We’ll agree who supplies what before starting, including any extra copywriting or paid images.
Can I ask for changes during the build?
Yes. You’ll see progress and have time to give feedback. Your quote will set out the included revision rounds. If you want to add something beyond the agreed scope, we’ll agree any extra cost before I build it.
What happens after launch? Are backups included?
We’ll agree the backup and recovery arrangements with your hosting setup before launch. Monthly retainers are available for ongoing upkeep, updates and maintenance. Critical fixes within the original agreed scope stay included. New features and changes are quoted separately.
Will my website be easy for everyone to use?
I build for phones, tablets and desktops, with readable text, clear navigation, keyboard access and labelled forms. If your audience has specific accessibility needs, tell me at the start so we can include the right checks in your scope.
Can I update the website and see who visits?
Yes, depending on your package. From £600, visitor analytics help you understand how people use your site. From £500, a content dashboard lets you update your own text and images. I’ll show you how to use the tools included in your build at handover.
